08 · your day

Daily notes

A day is a working note with calendar context, not a calendar database disguised as prose.

The daily briefing

Today's Focus leads. A collapsible From your calendars · read only block follows, then Today's Tasks, My Actions, Notes, and a conservative Momentum summary. Authored content remains Markdown; provider events never enter the file.

Tasks and priority

* [ ] Read the evaluation appendix !HIGH
* [ ] Update the experiment table !MED
* [ ] Archive old figures !LOW

New tasks carry a hidden creation timestamp and show Today, then 1 day, then N days until complete. Completing a carried-forward identity ends it.

My Actions

A timed action is portable Markdown. The day map and note edit the same line.

+ [ ] 09:00 [90m] Deep work

Rename, retime, complete, or delete from either surface. Timed read-only events share their containing hour but stay visibly distinct.

Yesterday gets a verdict

On launch, unfinished recent tasks require a decision: Move to Today or Not Important, individually or in bulk. There is no skip button. Moved and dismissed identities are not offered again.

Preparation runways

Right-click a date to seed [!PREP] callouts backwards from it. A runway draws a span on the day map and may create an Area. Complete early, End, Edit dates, or Extend; future daily files are not written until opened.

Alerts

Attach an alert to a My Action, calendar item, or runway. A Markdown action stores the durable reference in its own line:

+ [ ] 09:00 Deep work <!-- adhdnotes:alert=a1:15m -->

Completing, deleting, or choosing Remove alert stops it. Alerts due while the app was closed are caught on launch or become overdue chips.

Recurring patterns

* [ ] Review inbox @daily
* [ ] Plan tomorrow @weekdays
* [ ] Weekly review @weekly:monday
* [ ] Pay rent @monthly:1
* [ ] Month-end notes @monthly:last

@weekends is also supported. Recurring lines without a creation timestamp remain independent per day.

Calendar connections

Connect personal Microsoft calendars directly, or use macOS Internet Accounts through EventKit. The cache is read-only and bounded; nothing is written back to a provider. Other direct providers and non-macOS bridges are not published.
