Install the browser extension
Install ADHDNotes Clipper from the Chrome Web Store, Firefox Add-ons, or the Safari companion app. After installing the Safari companion, open it once, then turn the extension on in Safari Settings → Extensions. The desktop app must be running when you capture.
localhost:3666. It does not upload the page to a hosted ADHDNotes service.Save full pages as Marks
Use the toolbar action to save a readable offline page. The capture downloads supported images, retains the source URL, sanitizes third-party HTML, and normalizes new content to editable Live Markdown.
Clip selections as Snips
Select the exact text you need and use the context action. Snips stay separate from cross-library annotations: a Snip is a standalone capture object, while an annotation points to a passage in an existing source.
Edit, sort, recover
Marks and Snips share the writing surface and save state. Sort by Newest, Oldest, Title, or Site; Snips also support Custom order. A promoted legacy Mark retains its pristine original_content so Revert to original capture remains available.
Export the current document
| Format | What it produces |
|---|---|
| Markdown | The current text as a local copy. |
| HTML | A standalone ADHDNotes document with callouts, tables, Mermaid, highlights, and embedded local images. |
| Standard PDF | The standalone HTML printed to PDF; no Pandoc required. |
| LaTeX PDF | An optional scientific-paper path with one/two columns, captions, numbered headings, and callout boxes. |
The optional Pandoc path
LaTeX PDF requires Pandoc and a LaTeX engine installed separately. ADHDNotes detects missing tools, explains the per-platform setup, and leaves writing, reading, search, and Standard PDF available without them.
Source safety
Export writes a new local file. It does not rewrite the focused note, Mark, or Snip, and nothing is uploaded.
